Turret
style pressure gauges are used extensively in harsh environments -
primarily those found in petrochemical and offshore industries. These
gauges have a 4½" (115mm) nominal dial diameter, with phenolic
construction. The safegauge blow out back provides even greater
operator protection. Turret gauges are available as either
direct or surface mount,
moulder spacer legs at the three fixing points allow the back to blow
out if the gauge is surface mounted. These gauges are supplied as
standard dry and sealed for liquid filling, or can be supplied ready
filled with glycerine.

The
Rototherm Safegauge, safety pattern pressure gauge incorporates a
series of unique features that have given rise to new standards of
safety and sealing.
SafeGauges are available in either 100mm or 160mm dial sizes, all 100mm
dial SafeGauges with the exception of the back entry types can be
glycerine filled without the need for any modification. The 160mm dial
gauges have a damped movement as an option.

Rototherm
test gauges offer an accuracy 0.25%. All test gauges are manufactured
to a very standard and are all issued with a factory calibration
certificate, traceable to National Standards, before being despatched.
Test gauges are available with aluminium, DMC and stainless steel cases
and a selection of dial sizes - 150, 200, 250 or 300 mm. DMC and
stainless steel
cased test gauges are only available in 150 mm dial size. All Rototherm
test gauges are manufactured with a mirror scale, knife edged pointer
and fine division scale dial markings.

Diaphragm

The
fitting of a diaphragm seal unit to a pressure gauge is recommended
where the medium to be measured is highly viscous or contains suspended
solids or is potentially corrosive to the Bourdon Tube.
Seal units are normally connected directly to the gauge, but connection
may be made by flexible capillary, which makes them ideal for remote
pressure indication.
Pressure is transmitted from the diaphragm seal unit to the bourdon
tube by a suitable filling medium, the selection of which will ensure
compatability with the process and process temperature.

This
type of gauge is designed for measuring the pressure or vacuum of
substances which should not be handled by bourdon tube instruments.
They are ideal for some corrosive products or liquids containing
suspended solids. The measuring element is a metallic diaphragm,
connected from the top surface by a rod with a ball joint to an
adjustable movement.
These gauges should not be used on pressures over 25 bar or on
pulsations - for these applications the diaphragm seal gauge should be
used.
